Children + Youth Programs
after school program
Children and youth receive tutoring and homework help during after school hours in sites located in various apartment neighborhoods. Our program offers spaces for students to build community while receiving guidance from tutors consisting of volunteers from local universities. The daily support improves grades, behavior, and emotional health.

saturday tutoring
Every Saturday, high school volunteers tutor groups of 3-4 children. This program has an immensely positive impact on children’s literacy and social skills. In addition to tutoring, volunteers plan outings and organized drives. Being such a rewarding experience, we have seen countless volunteers commit to serving until their high school graduation.

Small group mentorship
Refugee children arriving to America benefit greatly from extra support and encouragement. We have seen lasting impact in the small group setting where children are assigned to volunteers and meet weekly to receive care. Activities include field trips, book clubs, and language lessons. Volunteers complete a background check and receive trainings throughout the year.
Soccer Academy
Soccer is a beloved sport among Clarkston youth. At our Soccer Academy, youth boys from 3rd to 12th grade have the opportunity to receive training and individual attention from 3 professional soccer coaches. Like many of the players, our coaches came to the United States as refugees and grew up in the community. They provide not only coaching, but also valuable life mentorship for our players who are navigating their teen years. We have the privilege of witnessing the team's dedication and passion as they sweat it out on the field during weekend games and tournaments. City Hope currently hosts sessions on Mondays and Wednesdays.

Youth Summer Camp
Instead of just staying at home, we want to provide an outlet for youth in the community during their two month long summer break. Our summer camp programs will offer a variety of exciting options including sports and art, STEM, and youth leadership camp. Summer camp truly brings joy to our students as they get to explore their creativity and expand their knowledge in a fun and engaging environment.
Underserved Youth and Young Adults
Many youth and young adults experience challenges that position them for poor outcomes. Whether someone is grappling with a history of incarceration or life after dropping out of high school, our staff comes alongside each individual to provide the safety, care, and support needed for them to make healthy changes and become contributing members of the community. Our program includes job guidance, team sports, mentorship, and educational support.
