Children + Youth Programs
after school program
Children and youth receive tutoring and homework help during after school hours in sites located in various apartment neighborhoods. Our program offers spaces for students to build community while receiving guidance from tutors consisting of volunteers from local universities. The daily support improves grades, behavior, and emotional health.
Monday – Thursday
4:30pm - 6:30pm
Weekly for one semester
klados saturday tutoring
Every Saturday, high school volunteers tutor groups of 3-4 children. This program has an immensely positive impact on children’s literacy and social skills. In addition to tutoring, volunteers plan outings and organized drives. Being such a rewarding experience, we have seen countless volunteers commit to serving until their high school graduation.
10am - 12pm
Small group mentorship
Refugee children arriving to America benefit greatly from extra support and encouragement. We have seen lasting impact in the small group setting where children are assigned to volunteers and meet weekly to receive care. Activities include field trips, book clubs, and language lessons. Volunteers complete a background check and receive trainings throughout the year.
jobs for youth
We offer part-time work opportunities for qualifying individuals. This program aims to help youth and young adults seeking employment as a means to support families, fund education, or obtain work experience. 100% of net profits go to job creation and wages.
Youth Leadership Camp
The goal of this 3-week program is to empower students to live out purposeful lives in their communities and beyond. The camp offers seminars, service projects, and college and career prep. Students delve deep into topics, such as entrepreneurship, and engage with relevant leaders in the field. The camp is also designed for students to build social capacity and a support system that carries beyond the summer.
3 weeks in the summer (2019 dates TBD)
