About Clarkston

Clarkston has been Georgia’s hub for refugee resettlement in the 1980s. The town’s relatively low cost of living and proximity to public transportation make it an ideal location and starting point for our new neighbors to resettle and begin to rebuild their lives in this country. The past few decades have brought refugees, asylees, and immigrants from over 50 countries to Clarkston. It has been aptly dubbed “The Ellis Island of the South” and considered the “most diverse square mile in America.”
